I have been teaching the piano accordion and button accordion (bayan) for over 30 years, working with both adults and children. The accordion is a unique instrument, and I am passionate about not only training students to play the accordion as a soloist, but also in duo and an ensemble.  I also want to expand knowledge about the bayan, which is not widely known in the U.S.

As soon as I graduated from the Belarussian State Academy of Music in 1987, I began teaching accordion at Minsk School #119 in Belarus. I continued to teach the accordion as I moved around the world - first to Israel, and now, for the last 20 years, at my “Musical Expressions” studio in Plano, Texas.

My students’ skills range from those who recently picked up an accordion to advanced players. I work individually with each person to create the right method that will help them achieve their goals. I also offer online lessons so that those beyond the Dallas area can be enriched with my knowledge of this unique instrument.

Please Contact Me, and I will be happy to provide more information about this opportunity.

The video to the left is of a very young student, who performed at a recital just a few months after her first lesson.

I offer 45-minutes and one-hour lessons, depending on what each student needs.

I provide high-quality private accordion lessons for all of my students:

  • Lessons for children and adults
  • Button or piano accordion lessons for beginning to advanced students
  • Online lessons for teenagers and adults

During our lessons, I will help you develop proper hand position and posture, learn and reinforce basic to advanced techniques (e.g., bellows control, fingering, articulation), improve sight-reading and ear training, and music theory knowledge.

I encourage my students to perform with each other and I often perform with my best students. After playing with my husband for 30 years, I know that two accordions are better than one!

Not only do students benefit from individual lessons, but we host two recitals each year where all students get the opportunity to perform their prepared pieces on stage and with a real audience.

The video shows how duo accordions can bring something different to a well-known piece of music.  Listeners will recognize the music, Carol of the Bells, but the duo accordions enrich this holiday classic.

Four of my students have won the Texas “Big Squeeze Contest in the Polka Category in Austin, TX: Peter Gresser in 2018, Elijah Clements in 2019, Alex French in 2021, and Elayne Doggett in 2022.

In 2023, my student Elijah Clements also won the national accordion championship for the Senior Virtuoso Entertainment division at the Accordionists & Teachers Guild International Festival. In 2024 he placed 4th in the World Cup International Accordion Competition, held in Kansas City, Missouri.

The video on the right is an interview given by Elijah Clements and me to KLRD radio at the Big Squeeze contest in 2024.
