I have been teaching the Button Accordion and Piano Accordion for over 30 years.
As soon as I graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Music in 1987, I began to work as an accordion teacher at the Minsk school #119 in Belarus. I continued to teach the accordion as I moved around the world - first to Israel, and now, for the last 15 years, at my “Musical Expressions” studio in Plano, Texas. I provide high-quality private lessons for all of my students.
My students’ skills range from those who recently picked up an accordion to advanced players. I work with young students and adults. I work individually with each person to create the right method that will help them achieve their goals.
After just four months of playing Button Accordion Nick Heatly with song “Dreaming” on NAA Convention 03/09/2019
Peter Gresser, winner of Texas "Big Squeeze" Contest in Polka Category in Austin, TX, 2018
Elijah Clements, Champion of "Big Squeeze" Contest in Polka Category in Texas, 2019 playing on LVAC Comedian Dance.
One of my Adult Accordion Students, Kelly Winstead Miyake - played a role in a play called “Once” last October in a Dallas and it was so humbling to read her words in the play's program about me ”No words can adequately express the depth of gratitude owed to Elena Fainshtein, Accordion Teacher extraordinaire. Thank you, Elena for taking me on this summer and teaching me to play for this role and beyond. Your guidance, talent, and Friendship are priceless”.
The accordion is a unique instrument, and I am passionate about spreading the experience of playing it to others.
Because of this, I offer Skype lessons so those beyond the Dallas area can be enriched with my knowledge of this instrument.
I offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and one-hour lessons, depending on what each student needs. The lessons include a great lesson book, a lesson plan, theory, learning the correct placement of your hand, fingering, and bellows technique.
I will demonstrate and teach you how to perform many beautiful songs in a fun and unique way!
This year, another student of Musical Expression Accordion School, Elijah Clements, won a Big Prize and become a Champion in Polka category in Texas. He also got a scholarship from Las Vegas Accordion Convention. I was so proud to attend the LVAC and perform with Elijah on the main stage with our program, where each of us played two songs as a solo and we have ended the performance as a Duo. This experience sets such a great example for all my students.
